Kingston is our handsome boy on the cover of this issue. He is five years old, and attends Punano Leo O Maui preschool in Lahaina.

Kingston’s nana is Wanette Kawahara, who has worked as a Regency Club Concierge for the past 24 years at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa in Ka‘anapali.

Kingston enjoys everything outdoors. His favorite activities are going to the beach and playing in the ocean, and he is a very active five year old.

Wanette shared, “I love Kingston’s infectious smile, it brightens up my day every time I see him!”

the restaurant at hotel wailea: innovative cuisine, impeccable service

restaurant-viewI still remember when the property at the top of the hill in Wailea was named Diamond Resort, and catered nearly exclusively to a Japanese clientele. Several years ago, it was rebranded as Hotel Wailea, and in 2015 this gem became the first and only Relais & Chateaux property in the state of Hawai‘i. As an adults-only resort, Hotel Wailea ranked #4 on the list of “30 Best Resorts in Hawai‘i” in 2016’s Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, and has also been honored by that same magazine as one of the “Top 16 Most Romantic Hotels in the World.”

Last summer, Hotel Wailea continued its metamorphosis by naming Maui native son Zach Sato as chef de cuisine, and unveiling a new culinary concept for its dining establishment, now called The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea. docnow…yes, the doctor will really see you now!

computer_docnowhawaiiWe recently had a chance to sit down with Dr. Norm Estin, Medical Director of DOCNOW to learn about a new medical service on Maui which puts your guests in immediate two-way video contact with an urgent care doctor right over a laptop, tablet, or phone. Many of you may know Dr. Estin from his 30 years of work as Medical Director of the Doctors On Call Urgent Care locations on the West Side.

TMC: Tell us about this new service for Maui’s visitors. How did you come up with the idea?

Dr. Estin: We see so many visitors and residents in our Doctors On Call offices that have easy problems to solve.
