We want to say Aloha and Mahalo to sister and brother Peyton Maria and Perfecto Franco Jr., our keiki models for this May issue.

Mom is Justine Maldonado-Morgan, reservation agent at Fairmont Kea Lani Resort & Spa, and the family lives in Kahului.

Peyton is seven years old, and attends Pomaika‘i school in the second grade, where she enjoys the arts and swimming after school.

Perfecto is nine years old, and attends school at Pomaika‘i in the third grade. He also loves art and going to the beach and pool on weekends.

Mom shares, “My kids are my world. They fill my life with joy, and are the main reason I work as hard as I do. They inspire me to succeed in work and in life.”

Along with the new name came a new executive chef: Dan Vesey, who made a name for himself as chef de cuisine at the historic Riverhorse on Main, Park City, Utah’s top-rated restaurant. With 16 consecutive Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Awards, Riverhorse on Main is lauded by restaurant critics and the dining public alike as one of North America’s top culinary destinations, and a Park City culinary gem. It’s a relaxed setting for locating a unique “Made in Hawai‘i” gift that Mom will cherish. Live music, great food at both “Restaurant Row” and “La Patisserie”, a silent auction, rummage sale, a beautiful lei & plant sale, a giant waterslide, pony rides, games and fun for the kids ensure a great day for all.
