seascape ma‘alaea restaurant: ocean friendly, family friendly, and just plain friendly!

seascape-advertisement-for-fb-crab-cakesMy favorite restaurants are those where you’re made to feel like part of the ‘ohana from the moment you walk in the door. Seascape Ma‘alaea falls comfortably into that category, as Janet and I discovered on a recent dining experience at this harbor-side gem that’s now offering dinner three nights a week in addition to their popular lunch service.

Part of Maui Ocean Center, The Hawaiian Aquarium, Seascape is located on the Lahaina side of the complex. There are two entrances to the restaurant—one inside the Aquarium and the other near the Ma‘alaea Harbor Shops. Aquarium admission is not required to dine. 3rd annual made in maui county festival: november 4 & 5, 2016

made-in-maui-county-festivalIn early November, the weekend of the 4th and 5th, Maui County will hold its largest products show, the annual Made in Maui County Festival, at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului. Now in its third year, the event aims to continue its momentum of showcasing hundreds of Made-in-Maui-County products while helping to grow the islands’ small businesses.

Over 140 product vendors will offer a wide variety of foods, produce, art, crafts, jewelry, fashions, gifts, collectibles and more. Of this total, 38 businesses are new to the event, 16 businesses are from Moloka‘i, and one from Lana‘i. Additionally, on Saturday, November 5, Maui’s popular food trucks will be featured in the Festival’s Food Court, offering a myriad of island-inspired menu items from eleven trucks. ka‘anapali resort hosts hawai‘i food & wine festival–the premier epicurean destination event in the pacific!

Ka‘anapali Beach Resort and the team of the Hawai‘i Food & Wine Festival Ka‘anapali come together to put on “the premier epicurean destination event in the Pacific.” From October 14 to 16, Ka‘anapali will be home to a culinary explosion of wine tastings, cooking demonstrations and remarkable dining experiences.

The party kicks off with the 19th Annual Roy’s Annual Golf Classic at noon on Friday, October 14, at Ka‘anapali Golf Courses. Top chefs, winemakers and pro golfers join in the action, which features a shotgun start and best-ball scramble format, fueled by gourmet food, beer, cocktails and dinner at the 19th hole by Roy’s Ka‘anapali.
