Aloha to Leiahi Kairangi and Halia Anahera Desmond, our cute keiki cover girls for May!

Leiahi is seven years old, and attends Kamali‘i Elementary School in Kihei. Her favorite subjects are math and art. Her little sister Halia is four years old, and she has fun at Venus Daycare in Kihei.

Dad is Cheyne Desmond, Shuttle Driver at Courtyard by Marriott in Kahului, and Mom is Barrie Desmond, Engineering Coordinator at Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. The family lives in Kihei, and the girls enjoy art projects, rollerblading, and swimming.

Mom shares, “Our children inspire us every day. Leiahi is thoughtful, caring, and sweet. Halia is loving, funny, and definitely keeps us on our toes. They are both beautiful girls on the inside and out. It’s a joy to see their different personalities shine. They have a bright future ahead of them; we are very proud.”

The Banyan Tree is situated on the lower portion of the Ritz-Carlton property overlooking a huge expanse of bright green lawn and Kapalua’s raw, untamed coastline. Inside, stone flooring in the entry and lounge areas flows seamlessly to hardwood plank flooring in the dining room—its rich, dark hue perfectly matches the chair frames. ­­­­­Orange and purple striped chair pads and purple Chilewich placemats lend a pop of color plus a feeling of hominess.
