As part of the Kaanapali Beach Resort Association’s culinary promotion, its executive director Shelley Kekuna is proud to host Canadian restaurateur and author Chef Vikram Vij in Kaanapali Beach Resort April 11-15, 2016. The association along with its partners Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa and The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas will host three culinary functions over three days this month. Maui will have the opportunity to meet Chef Vikram Vij upclose and personal at three functions planned in his honor April 12, 13 and 14.


The first event is a two-hour cooking class designed for Maui chefs by Chef Vikram in collaboration with Chef Gevin Utrillo of Japengo at The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa. Chef Vikram will lead a cooking class centered around Indian spices from 11am – 1pm, April 12, at Hyatt Regency Maui’s Lahaina Ballroom. To register email Liz Sager at liz@kaanapaliresort.com. On Wednesday, The general public is invited to meet Chef Vikram at a talk story session entitled “Brand Marketing and Entrepreneurism” by Chef Vikram from 9:30am – 11am, April 13, at Hyatt Regency Maui’s Statue Gardens. Fee applies.


Lastly, Chef Vikram will partner with Chef Francois Milliet of The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas for a collaborative dining event on Thursday, April 14 at 6pm. This culinary and beverage experience will feature action-stations offering dishes that highlight Chef Vikram’s Indian heritage. Tickets are $90 per person. In 2015, Executive Chef Gevin Utrillo of Japengo at The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa and Executive Chef Francois Milliet of The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas traveled to Vancouver with Kaanapali Beach Resort Association to promote Kaanapali’s modern Hawaiian cuisine.
