MauiBrewFest'12 happening at MACC webCelebrating its fifth year, the Maui Brewers Festival returns to Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 2:30 to 7 pm Presented by Maui Arts & Cultural Center, Maui Brewing Co. and Paradise Beverages, the much-anticipated festival takes place under the swaying coconut palms in Yokouchi Pavilion and A&B Amphitheater at the MACC. Maui Brewers Festival is a fundraiser for The Center with net proceeds benefiting its arts education and cultural programs for students, seniors and the Maui County community.

This year, the festival will feature 32 craft breweries from Hawai‘i, California, Oregon, Colorado, Michigan, Illinois and Delaware, including:

Big Island Brewhaus, Blue Moon Brewing Co., Coronado Brewing Company, Crisp Apple Hard Cider, Deschutes Brewery, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Golden Road Brewery, Goose Island Beer Co., Hopworks Urban Brewery, Iron Fist Brewing, Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales, Kona Brewing Co., Lost Coast Brewery, Maui Brewing Co., Moylan’s Brewing Co., Ninkasi Brewing Company, Oskar Blues Brewery, Pizza Port San Clemente, Redhook Ale Brewery, Redstone Meadery, Samuel Adams, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Stone Brewing Co., Uncommon Brewers and Widmer Brothers.

The breweries that participate in the Maui festival are selected because of their commitment to making craft beer in which quality, flavor and locally-sourced ingredients come first.

Brew Maui Homebrew Club also participates in the festival to educate guests about the brewing process. Brew Maui will host the 4th annual homebrew contest as part of Maui Brewers Festival. The participating breweries will show guests why craft beer is the fastest growing beverage-alcohol segment in U.S. supermarkets.

Festival-goers will enjoy a leisurely day of sampling from a vast selection of 68 craft beers paired with island style dishes from local purveyors such as Aloha Events Catering, Bob’s Dogs of Maui, Bridgit & Bernard’s Garden Café, Flatbread & Company, Fleetwood’s on Front St., Food for the Soul, Fred’s Mexican Cafe, Gourmet Catering by Vasi, Just Wing It, Kalama’s Local Grinds, Longhi’s, Maui Brewing Co. Brew Pub, Maui Tacos, Mulligan’s on the Blue, Ono Gelato, Outrigger Pizza Company, Star Anise Indian Cuisine, Stella Blues Café, Sumo Dogs, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, Three’s Bar & Grill and Whole Foods Market.

On stage, the entertainment line-up includes Maui’s hottest bands: Nuff Sedd, Lia Live! and Simply Twisted. There will also be logo merchandise for sale by Crazy Shirts for Maui Brewers Festival and individual breweries as well as prize giveaways throughout the day.

The advance purchase price for general admission (4 to 7 pm) is $50 per adult, which includes eight 4-ounce pours of beer, a commemorative beer glass, ‘ono pupu and desserts, and event parking. The $95 VIP/Rare Beer tasting package features reserved parking, early entry at 2:30 pm to taste rare beers in the pavilion, a logo shirt in addition to general admission for the entire event. A general admission ticket purchased on the day of event will be $60. A “designated driver” ticket can be purchased on request. The festival is open to adults aged 21 years and over only.
